The fashion industry uses a lot of water to manufacture clothes, and the amount is expected to double by 2030:
Water usage per item
The amount of water used to make a piece of clothing depends on the type of clothing:
T-shirt: 2,700 liters
Jeans: 7,250 liters
Hoodie or sweatshirt: 3,350 liters
Pants or boxers: 850 liters
Bra: 550 liters
Socks: 375 liters
Water usage overall
The fashion industry uses around 93 billion cubic meters of water per year, this is equivalent to 37 million Olympic swimming pools.
You know how all of us have this little feeling in our heart to someday make a positive impact in the society and then we get so busy that we think it's only a luxury of the Elite, that's not true anymore. All of us can make a change and this is our chance, to finally be able to make a positive impact, to act as a citizen of the Earth.
